BOKEH – Take Me To Your Sea

Bokeh, aka Chloe Lewer, is based in Berlin. She has the complex, Bohemian-esque vibe of that city in the soul of her music. I’ve reviewed her stuff before and loved it. This is no different – loved this too!

A sparse mix, hypnotic and slightly chilling, Take Me To Your Sea is about falling under someone else’s influence and experiencing the needs and wants of the never-to-be-satisfied narcissist partner. A synth-influenced number, very well produced and delicately engineered, the single has an accompanying video produced and directed by the lady herself.

The video itself is equally sparse. Barren, even. That’s in keeping with the desperate need to be placed in a position of being wanted for oneself as opposed to a crutch for the emotions of another who our heroine is horrified to accept will never put her first – but who she cannot let go of.

Really cool single, well worth a listen if you’re into the Lorde style of writing and production. Not to suggest Bokeh is a Lorde clone, because she’s not. Just to give you some common term of reference.

Released on Friday 7th July to coincide with the release of her album Room 42. Definitely check it out and follow her on the socials.
