AJA is a Kiwi singer/songwriter of Ngāti Raukawa, Te Ati Awa ki Whakarongotai, Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Ngāti Porou descent. Her ancestral Marae and Iwi is Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai, in Waikanae on the rugged west coast of New Zealand’s lower North Island.

An APRA Maioha Silver Scroll Award winner in 2022, AJA brings the contemporary world of Maori in Aotearoa New Zealand to you in verse and song. Full name Aja Wairere Ropata, she is an educator as well as a performer in Maori culture and heritage.
