YEEEEEHAWWWW! Steffany Beck returns with a huge bang, and a delightful homage to one of the world’s genuine Titans of music, the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton.
I’ve given Steffany reviews on her previous two releases, both of which are on the EP PILLARS, just released. This one is very much a Nashville-geared country classic, with the rhythm section and overall orchestration screaming out “line daaaaaaance!” I can almost hear the entire population of Gore groaning in gentle ecstasy.

This track starts how it intends to go on – Dolly Parton. With the atmospheric minor chord opening, the punchy, up-tempo drums, and Steffany‘s full range on joyous display, we get treated to some lyrical bytes of Dolly‘s famous hits as Steffany tells us essentially to face your obstacles daily, and just think what Dolly would do.
With a chorus just dripping with commercial viability (and driving you crazy with the feeling that it’s something Ma’am Parton herself sang somewhere in the past – although she did not: this is all Steffany), we’ve got some fast strumming acoustic gat pumping up the straight outta Tennessee steel guitar lead.
Always for me the stand out of a Steffany Beck release is the fantastic timbre of the vocalist herself. This lady packs a punch, and I believe she has the stones to succeed in this journey she’s embarked upon. With material like this EP and single, I dare you to disagree. Full, several octaves, a snarl, emotion, the list goes on. A very accomplished vocalist.
It’s on Flash-Trax’s Spotify. This one doesn’t have a vid but check her other ones out on the You Tubes. I expect to hear this one around the traps though. It’s got chart hit all over it, and is composed with a really groovy, somewhat un-sugary melody. It’s sassy and fey. She’s taking it on tour too, so you’ll get to see what it comes over like live. I expect it would be hard-hitting and outrageously entertaining. If you’re a Country music fan, you cannot let Steffany Beck go by without picking up her stuff.
Another eleven out of ten. Tour info is on our home page.
