Grecco Romank – 2 Hot 2 Hunt

Go to a dark rave with Tāmaki Makaurau based Grecco Romank! This is pure night club music, not the sort of stuff for the faint hearted. Band members Billie Fee, Mikey Sperring and Damian Golfinopoulos have quite a CV to their names in other NZ acts, and have transferred this to Grecco Romank.

We’ve got deep, dark electronica, harsh synth stab/pad leads with a pulsating rhythm section. This is itself turned into a trance-like anthem by repeating vocals that build in intensity of delivery, accompanied by the same build in the highly visual promo vid on the You Tubes. Filmed by Josh Harris-Harding, the vid is a celebration of techno-club colours, gore, horror and surreal morning-after style imagery around the debauched centre of K-Road. Take a look.

As mentioned, this is all for the clubs. This is something that will keep the condition going. Something that will grab the energy by the cojones and blast it skywards. From their forthcoming album Arts Colony, this is a screaming and thumping intro to the new stuff coming up from these guys.

I have been labouring to resurrect my poor, geriatric laptop so this has been on release for a week or two, therefore it’s on Spotify too. If you haven’t heard it yet on the club scene, or radio, pop online and check out the vid. It really catches the vibe of the song, and would work well as a visual for club after club. The track feels like the soundtrack to an intense night, the ending of which is very much up for debate as to the percentage chances the participants have of even seeing the dawn.

Check it out if you’re up for an adrenaline burst. This is definitely one the DJs need. And watch out for that up-coming album too! Great work Grecco Romank. This really does the trick.
