Tyrun – Do It

Tyrun, an Aucklander of Niuean and Samoan heritage, is quite the package. New single Do It brings forth a good focus on what this young multi-talented entertainer is going to be bringing us over his career.

With a gentle synth based R & B number, suffused by pop drums and percussion, Tyrun demonstrates his youthful tenor vocal to give us a distinct South Pacific warmth and groove. It’s definitely a track to dance to. Recorded and mixed with Sam Minot in Pōneke, produced by LA-based Mark Evich, mastered at KOG Studio, Auckland, Tyrun sings about a summer love, opening up his naughtier, cheekier side.

The orchestration and studio work is exquisite, balanced nicely for the audience it’s going out to.

Tyrun says he’s more interested in multi-media entertainment as he likes to draw a diverse audience. To that end he’s working on the vid to the single with Chris Antonio, with whom Tyrun is already acquainted. When the vid comes out I’ll be sure to post the review. Tyrun says he likes to show his visual and movement side to his audience, which he says his video is going to bring. Noice!

Definitely one that’s going to be picked up by commercial radio, this will see student and regional stations picking it up as well. It’s utterly playable, and is unashamedly aimed at commercial viability – which it succeeds in. The video will undoubtedly get a good airing too.

If warm, gentle, positive and slightly saucy R & B is your thing you need to get into this guy and follow his career. Check the track out on Spotify, and get dancing. It’ll ensnare you.

Great opener from Tyrun.
