Hold onto your hats, Ardon England is back with new single I’m That Bitch.
Ardon (Ngāti Kahungunu, Te Āti Awa, Kahuranaki Marae) is releasing the track as forerunner to the EP of the same name on 12th February 2026. As the EPK tells us:
“I’M THAT BTCH”* flips ego into liberation—an alter-ego switch that invites everyone to take up space, louder. It’s cheeky, confident, and gloriously queer, pushing Aotearoa’s electronic scene forward while spotlighting Māori identity on the dance floor.
Ardon is determined to spread his sound and the work he provides gives us ample reason to follow his story. Proudly an openly queer Māori male (his own words, not mine), Ardon certainly knows how to make music that can draw in the gay scene and cross the floor to any other group you care to name that one would expect to see in clubland.
This track is pulsating and hypnotic. The bassline is warm and takes itself places both dark and light. Some very nicely mixed kick drum married to the bassline thuds this number into a surefire club hit, but the true star – fittingly – is Ardon‘s vocal.
Steamy, rhythmic and chant-like, it’s delivered in a husky whisper that turns this whole track into something organic and pounding. I have to confess to a moment of misheard lyrics, when I thought Ardon was telling us “I’m the bitch, I’m the drummer” before it clicked that he’s the bitch, he’s the DRAMA. My ears hearing Welsh accents from Māori vocals. Sorreee!
Ardon is going places physically as well as metaphorically. He’s off to Australia later this year, before which we have a tour covering Aucks, the glorious capital, Whanganui and Mount Maunganui. If club is your sound, you have to catch Ardon‘s tour. This single is definitely going to be on George, Mai, many of the indies and student stations, and it deserves it. Captivating and I have x=zero doubt whatsoever that it will be a floor filler at every club.
Keep up the message Ardon, and represent like you’re already doing. This is great! I’m That Bitch, Ardon England. 12th Feb. You read it here.
