And Kiwi pop sensation PRINS is back with another barnstorming guaranteed chart topper!

Man I sound like a disc spinner from the old days of radio, but I’m enthused by this single. Due for release this coming Friday, 30th January, Designer is going to make you pay attention. She says about the single:

“The song reflects exactly where I’m at as an artist. It’s confident, forward-moving and unapologetically ambitious. I’m really drawn to pop music that feels elevated and powerful, something that makes you want to stand taller the second it comes on, and that’s the lane I’m owning more and more.”

We’ve got an absolute pumping rhythm section and fat bottom end sound giving this the vibe that you want. A real floor shaker (with respect to those of us who felt the 4.5 shake in the lower North Island today!), this is going to blow the subs into orbit. Some in your face synth work tops off the instrumentation, augmented by some gorgeously balanced percussive phrasing.

As one would expect, the vocal is the true star of this show. An exceptionally powerful soprano, clear as can be and drawn from the soles of her feet through the lungs and diaphragm into our world. Damn, she good! We’ve got a not-too-sugary but pure pop commercial melody, and some very addictive singalong, ear worm bits for you to take away and let rattle around your head for hours. Trust me – it’ll happen.

I don’t have a vid to talk about, and the detail on the studio wizardry is maybe for another time, but she’s back in Aotearoa from her Los Angeles base, playing Christchurch (hometown gig!) on Sunday 1st February, then she’s up in the City of Sails headlining a free show as part of Sunset Sounds in Aotea Square on Thursday 5th Feb.

I’m not a betting man, so I would lay money down anyway that this is a sure-fire number one single. It’s not gambling when it’s something that’s got no risk, you see. This IS going to be a number one. It’ll be all over the radio, so take your pick of stations. If it’s high energy dance-pop you like, this is your time.
