Theia – Holy War

From her November 2025 album Girl, In A Savage World, increasingly influential artist Theia brings us her new single Holy War. Wow. Really Wow!

A haunting, breathy top end soprano intro vocal over the gentle sounds of flames from somewhere. A call about her country being in flames, and some almost staccato strings bring us into a seriously atmospheric, deeply socio-political song. Take any number of messages from the lyrics. You’ll find that easy right now, as they are so relevant to so much going on in our misfiring world.

Theia champions indigenous rights, and writes from that perspective. I am personally an avid supporter of these things, and I will support and advocate the rights of the indigenous peoples of all places. In this I am a massive supporter of Theia making it as far as is humanly possible, to keep the importance of retaining the colour, wisdom, heritage, lessons and treasures of our elder cultures.

The song here consists of Theia‘s deceptively powerful lead vocal over a backing vocal that follows her largely throughout the vocal piece. The melody is bittersweet and haunting, delivering lyrics that add drama and menace. The instrumental section is nicely understated with those strings and synths sitting just high enough in the mix to be prevalent to the overall atmosphere Theia has created.

The track is going to do well. It’ll see airtime on Mai FM, George, and any number of others all over the world. It deserves it too, as it stands up as a great single whether you are into the message or not.

You can hear it now on the streaming platform of your choice. It’s got atmos, drama, audio effects, an amazing vocal performance, and it’s not even three minutes long!
