TiGER – Chameleon

Oooooohhh smooth! Tāmaki Makaurau based TiGER is bringing his new single Chameleon out this coming Friday, 6th February 2026 – and if slow, seductive, sultry, compelling soul/R &B is your cup of tea, you my friends need to mark this on your calendar.

In a breathtaking display of top tenor breaking into a full voiced falsetto that’s pleasingly rounded, TiGER leads us on a bittersweet melody across just over three and a half minutes of audio gold. We have a captivating lyric with a powerful, powerful chorus to enforce the message. TiGER explains in the EPK:

All my music is about life lessons and being fierce enough to show the good and the bad that comes with being human. In this song, I hope people learn to listen to their gut, know their self-worth, and know who they are as people, because changing yourself entirely to fit someone else is no way to live.

The catalyst, and an important one to note, came when TiGER caught up with the guy his ex had left him for. The guy told him that the ex had been quite abusive and assaulted him a number of times and ways. An escape for TiGER, and one he’s reflected on in this song. Just give that chorus another listen once you have digested this info. Sends shivers down the spine.

This is a haunting, yet warm and embracing, number. The melody is bittersweet indeed, and the instrumentation and orchestration have been thought through and designed to perfection. Produced by Bray Jeffrey, mixed and mastered by Rawiri Waters, I have to commend the desk pilots for their work here. It really gets you swaying.

I’ve got a vid to review for it! Recorded at Piha, using Super 8 during the most spectacular hours for the unearthly golden hues Piha can give us, director/main camera Tiago Kerber has rustled up an epic. The work of Dyego Cortinas as lighting director raises this track to another level again, as far as the visuals go. Special. Ivanna Trujillo and Sid Naidu deserve plaudits for production assistant work. This is a stunning video. Congratulations.

This is a shoo-in for More FM, George, ZM, the student networks, regionals and the telly. This kind of number gets popular in a lot of South America and Europe too, so I’m hoping it gets the coverage. I know it’s in good hands for the promo, and is released under Timeless Records, based right here in Enzed.

Friday 6th February. Mark the date.
